CDB
family extends to Leh (Ladhakh
region in Jammu& Kashmir)
Leh Nutrition Project in Leh has joined hands with Butterflies
to implement the Bal Vikas Bank (CDB) in Leh. An MOU
was signed with the partner NGO and Butterflies on December
2nd 2004. The CDB is going to be formally launched in
Leh on December 20th 2004.

Training
Workshop on Leadership for Butterflies
BVB members organized in Delhi from November 20th -
21st 2004
In order to inculcate leadership qualities amongst BVB
children in Butterflies programme, an inhouse training
on leadership was organized for 2 days in which around
15 children participated.

Workshop on CDB Concept in Chennai from December 5th-7th
2004
A training workshop for children of Bal Vikas Bank (CDB)
in Chennai is being organised by Butterflies specifically
on CDB Concept and management and on Leadership.

A
trip to HSBC Branch located in
Barakhamba Road New Delhi
Strengthening CDB-HSBC partnership, an exposure visit
of the BVB team of Butterflies comprising of 20 CDB
managers and members, has been organsied on December
13th to a main branch of HSBC located in Barakhamba
road, New Delhi. The objective of the visit is to organize
for children, hands on experience on the actual functioning
of an adult bank. The exposure visit will include one-hour
session on banking principles followed by an interaction
with the Regional Coordinator of HSBC, Ms Nancy Dickinson
(Also a member of the Advisory Board of CDB) and refreshments
for the children.
