Children’s Development Bank:
The LAUNCH of Children’s
Development Bank (CDB) in New Delhi at the CONSTITUTION
CLUB
The Children’s Development Bank programme was
internationally launched on 11th June 2004, at
the Constitution Club in Rafi Marg. Mrs. Rita
Panicker, Director Butterflies, chaired the launch
and introduced the guest speakers. Dr. Vina Mazumder
(Chairperson, Centre for Women’s Development Studies,
New Delhi) delivered the keynote address. Dr.
Suman Sachdeva (Educationist and Development Researcher)
launched the website, and Mrs. Rajwant Sandhu
(Joint Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and
Empowerment, Government of India) and Dr. Vasanti
Raman (Senior Research Fellow, Centre for Women’s
Development Studies) also spoke on the occasion.
The participants on the International Training
Workshops, adults and children alike, all attended
the launch, as well as the press and media.

based advocacy strategies.
