HOW
TO START CHILDREN'S DEVELOPMENT BANK
At present we are operational in India, Afghanistan,
Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Srilanka.The future plan is to establish more
banks and cover as many countries as possible.
All the banks will be established on the model of existing
Children's Development Banks. All Children's Development
Banks will have similar mode of functioning and same rules
and regulations.
The Secretariat for Children's Development Bank is based
at Butterflies in New Delhi. The Secretariat will be
responsible for establishing new Children's Development
Banks based on the need for such banks and requests from
other NGO's.
Non Governmental Organizations working with street and
working children are encouraged to start Children's
Development Banks as part of their programs. They could
send letters to the Secretariat expressing their intention
to start Children's Development Banks. Each of these banks
will be established on the basis of a signed Memorandum of
Partnership between the Secretariat and the concerned NGO.
Active participation and involvement of children in the
functioning of the their respective organizations will be
the main criterion for selecting partners for this
program.
The Secretariat may not be able to support NGO's
financially at present to start Children's Development
Bank. But the Secretariat will be able to provide
personnel's for conducting trainings for staff and
children of the NGO's which plan to start banks.
